This folder might be hidden by the MAC OS so if you can’t find it go to Finder, press command/shift/G and type in /Library.īefore deleting folders or files remove any saved game files you want to keep, plus any custom empires and races. If the game runs turn the mods back on one-by-one to figure out which mod is causing the problem. Click on the mods tab at the top of the screen and click disable all. Mods can be activated and deactivated using the Paradox launcher.

Make sure the drivers for your video card are up to date by visiting the card manufacturer’s site.ĭisable any user mods that are active to see if any of them are stopping the game from running. Open the settings.ini file (it might be labeled settings.txt instead) in a text editor like Notepad.įind the gui_scale setting and change it to 1.000000 (all the zeros should already be there). If your game is too big to fit on the screen after installing the Nemesis DLC you probably had the UI scaling set to more than 1, and although you can get to that setting in the game itself and change it the option to save it is not available. That can be accessed from the Paradox launcher on the settings menu, go into that menu and select “Borderless fullscreen.” Special Note For The Nemesis DLC If Stellaris will not start try running Stellaris in Borderless fullscreen mode. If the Nemesis DLC causes the game to be too big open the settings.ini file and set the gui_scale to 1. Some of these are old solutions but may still work today. I thought it might be helpful to put this page together and add it to the website. Some of these fixes are old and some are reasonably recent ones. My problem turned out to be the same one I had in the past and had forgotten about, and while I was looking for a way to fix it I came across these fixes so I thought I’d list them on this page as well.
